We hide in this shell, hoping that no beams of light will shine through, casting our shadows on the wall.
No one can know we are here. We are memories and dustbunnies that used to be known, but now we are the fragments of broken hearts and broken dreams that were tossed to the wind, disowned, and dismayed.
We are corpses of the lost children, wolves preparing to devour us at the slightest provocation.
We did not ask for this. This was thrusted upon us, a screaming child abandoned. And now this child is ours. We bear it's weight and needs, hiding it's flame from those who would rip it away, no matter how much it annoys or decieves us.
We lo
So many people dressed in black, heads bowed.
So many strangers, that had some connection to you.
Strange. I always felt that we were isolated to each other.
But, now I realize, we are all part of something connected, something larger.
You, and me, included.
I'll visit every week, telling you what happened to the people you knew, the places you knew, the things you loved.
Now I know that you might be physically gone, but your still always there.
I'm never alone now.
Some people think I just talk to myself, like the other lunatics, but we know better.
I love talking to you.
You always listen.
It has been a few years since the incident, and
What's the point?
I barely live. I merely exist.
Without you here, I have no life.
Everyone gives me this look, like an lost puppy.
They all pity me, but are afraid.
Afraid of who I am, of what I might do.
Of the amount of sanity that I may still contain.
No one cares.
Blank expressions can't comfort me, or bring you back.
Back home.
So I just sit here, my sobs muffled by the cover of my own arms.
I feel the warm arms wrapping around my own, but I ignore the soft voice in my ear.
I stand and walk numbly back with her, comforting words not breaking through my self-imposed fortress.
I don't want the walls to break.
Once they do, every
To those who are serving,
We thank you.
To those who have served,
We thank you.
To those who have died,
We thank you.
To those who helped others,
We thank you.
To those who have protected their brethren,
We thank you.
To loved ones we have lost,
We thank you.
For you have protected us,
Protected the homeland our children and grandchildren will inherit.
For those who suffer from memories of the darkest times,
We uphold and comfort you.
As a country, united in our gratitude, we thank you.
I just want you back.
I want to see you there every day, wearing that same, stupid smile that I've always loved.
Your shaggy brown hair falling around the back of your neck, just barely grazing your shoulders.
Your glimmering green eyes, calling me towards you.
I'll give anything to see you again.
Money.
Heirlooms.
Property.
My own life.
All minor things,
Willing to be traded,
Anything to make you come back.
I just want to see you again.
I would die to bring you back.
Why did you leave me here?!
Now I have no one!
I'm alone because of you!
You promised that I would never have to be alone again,
That we would always be together.
Lies!
All lies!
Why did you leave?!
I can't live without you!
...I just c-can't...
I need you.
You're not dead.
You're right here besides me.
Why do people keep saying that you left, that you're in a better place?
You talk to me every day.
None of this ever happened.
You can't be gone.
You promised you would never leave me.
You've never broken a promise.
And if you were to leave,
I'd go with you.
No matter where you are, where you're going.
I can't live without you.
You can't be dead.

Jack Frost~Safe and Sound
Jackson Overland laughed as he
pulled on his boots, with his little sister Pippa pulling at his arm the whole
time. “Come on, Jack! We need to get there before it gets too dark to skate!”
He laughed again, and finished lacing the boots onto his feet. Jack stood up, and pecked his mother on the
cheek, promising a safe return. Just before they left the warm confines of the
house, his mother called out to them. “Be careful!” Jack grinned and laughed as
Pippa attempted to drag him out of the cottage. “We will!” Casting one last
look back at his mother, Jack finally relented to Pippa, and ran alongside her,

The sun sparkled in the clear blue sky on the late morning of April 10th, the air cool, moist from the sea salt drifting in the atmosphere like it always did. Jack blinked, trying to ease the stinging from the burning granules that always managed to find their way into his eyes. He looked down at the crowded streets of the bustling town, observing the rushing ant-like people as they headed for the dock. Jack swung closer to the ground, now able to make out particular people, and what they were carrying. Carts rolled down the street, and Jack could just make out the silhouettes of the esteemed society figures insid

It's been a while
Just dropping in to say that it's very unlikely I'll post anything here ever again, though I don't plan on killing the account. So feel free to unfollow or ignore, no hard feelings.
I'm going through my old poems, and putting my favorites in a book on Wattpad (For Want of Stars), and it's kinda weird to realize how much better I've gotten at composing poetry, and short pieces in general. Cool to see.
Poetry.
Been on a bit of a poetry run for the past week or two, so expect something to come rollingollypollying your way.
Much love such adoration
